Chirk Castle and Yew Topiary
This 700 year old Marcher fortress was built by the Mortimer family to help secure Edward I’s recently conquered lands in Wales. It was sold to Sir Thomas Myddleton in the late 16th century – and part of the castle is still home to his descendants 400 years later! This is a National Trust property.
Location: Chirk, North Wales
