Gardens at Cholmondeley Castle

Lush shruberies in Cholmondeley Castle's beautiful and romantic gardens. The castle, which is not open to the public, was built in 1801. The gardens can be enjoyed from spring until the end of October, with great swathes of daffodils brightening April and May; scented roses and colourful herbaceous planting enticing visitors from June to August and fiery autumnal foliage adorning the shortening days. This photograph was taken in August.
