CHESHIRE
Shinto Shrine, Tatton Park Japanese Gardens
The creation of the Japanese Garden at Tatton Park reflected an early 20th century fascination in the U.K. with Japan and its culture. In 1910, the 3rd Viscount Egerton brought workers from Japan to help create a small part of their home country in deepest Cheshire. The result is probably the finest example of its kind in Britain.
