Palm House, Bicton Park

The Palm House at Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, Devon, dates from the 1820's and was constructed using 18,000 panes of glass. Located in East Devon’s Otter Valley, this popular family destination boasts a diverse range of horticultural styles. It has an Italian Garden, laid out around 1735; American and Stream Gardens dating from the early 18th century and a Hermitage Garden created in 1839. Other attractions include Mediterranean and Rose Gardens, a pinetum, arboretum, fernery and Shell House. Other glass houses at Bicton feature plants from temperate, tropical and arid climates.
