Cheshire

Set on a wooded hill, not far from medieval Beeston Castle, Grade 1 listed Peckforton Castle is actually a relatively modern creation. It was built between 1841 and 1851 by Cheshire MP John Tollemache. This photograph was taken in the 1990's - the castle is now open to the public as a hotel, conference venue and wedding location.
