GARDENS
Biddulph Grange Tulips
Restored by the National Trust, who took ownership of these gardens in 1988, Biddulph Grange Gardens take the visitor on a horticultural journey around the world.
They were originally created in 1840 by James and Maria Bateman, with the help of their friend John Cooke. Their intention was that the garden should reflect a range of styles and, to this end, they included a China Garden, a Cheshire Cottage, an Egyptian Court and Italian Terraces as well as a Stumpery (or upside down tree), an avenue of giant Wellingtonia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) trees, and a Dahlia Walk!
Biddulph is located near to Cheshire’s Little Moreton Hall – which is also a National Trust property. If you are in the area, it is well worth visiting both of these top quality attractions.
Location: Staffordshire
