Dalemain, Autumn Garden
Dalemain is an historic property that, in parts, dates back more than 600 years. The house is situated in a particularly peaceful area of the Lake District, near Ullswater. Its two hectare gardens reflect the serenity of the place. Visitors can enjoy a Tudor Knot Garden, pictured here in October; a Rose Walk featuring old fashioned varieties; richly planted herbaceous borders and varieties of 18th and 19th century apple trees. There is also a gazebo with 18th century seating and Britain’s biggest Silver Fir (Abies Cephalonica). The house is feature in the Heritage section of this website.
