Joe Wainwright

I am based in North Wales and have been a keen photographer for more than 30 years. I have worked in public relations and marketing roles, and I'm currently employed in Cheshire, helping to promote tourism in this beautiful and historic county.

My images have been published in a number of heritage and lifestyle magazines - and, through my tourism marketing role, have been used by local, regional and national organisations. These include: -
  • English Heritage
  • The National Trust
  • VisitBritain
  • Visit Chester and Cheshire
  • Northwest Development Agency
  • Chester City Council
  • Cheshire County Council
  • Enjoy England
  • European Garden Heritage Network
  • England's North Country
  • Northwest Vision
  • Byways Breaks

In my photography, I aim to reflect the beauty of Britain’s natural and built heritage – and I have developed this site so I can share, more widely, my extensive library of images taken across the country.

Until 2005 my photographs were taken using Canon SLRs, including the EOS 3. Scans are made using the excellent Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400 scanner. Now I use the Canon EOS 5D mk 2, with the Canon 40D as a backup body. All digital images are taken in Raw format and processed using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Photoshop.

Most images featured on this site are available for sale However, due to restrictions imposed by the National Trust, CADW and English Heritage, properties owned by these organisations are featured for the interest of visitors to this site only and unfortunately cannot be purchased.

If you are interested in purchasing print or digital copies of any photographs featured on this site please use the PayPal Shopping Cart feature next to each image or see the Image Sales section.
